What We Have To Offer

I would like to thank all the folks that have contributed and helped in the making of this tribute album. Thanks to all visitors of RockingEels.com for the awesome contributions, ideas and comments. A special “thank you, you guys totally rock” goes out to Butch and Tommy Walter for actually taking part in this album, which was made by fans out of the appreciation and admiration for the artist Mark Oliver Everett and everybody else who has been involved in the making of Eels music.

Without a doubt, there are some phenomenal songs to be found on this album. It’s very nice to see that several versions with translated lyrics and also some instrumentals have made it on to the album. Furthermore: if some of you are wondering about the very last song and don’t recognise it as a part of the Eels universe, then let me advice you to listen to the very last seconds of the E solo song “Mass”…

I hope you all enjoy the record. It’s been a pleasure organising it and getting to know some very talented Eels fans from all over the world.

This record is not meant for profit!

    So great!

Although it’s such a shame people submitted 128kbps tracks… so of them are really great but in low quality.

You all have done a great job.
    Thank you for this!
    ciao

    p.s.
I think a low-fi approach to the audio quality of the songs is due to a low-fi approach to the E world, so for me it’s ok to have some 128 kbps audio files in there.

      To be honest,

I was one the previous album a few times, not on this one due to a mere lack of time. However, 128 or 256 or whatever bits you listen to, does not make a change for YOUR ear. Whether it’s recorded at 44.1 Khz or 128 Khz , that’s a slight, still barely hearable change. I’m a recording artist for over 7 years now so believe me, it doesn’t matter if it’s 128 or 312 or even plus that bits, for your ears. Perhaps you’ll notice a F sharp slightly better, that’s all you’ll get. So honestly, stop complaining, and appeciate the hard work the people put into this amaaaaazing record..!! 🙂

The vintage sound E gets, has nothing at all to do with bitrates, sample sizes, or what so ever. It’s about compressors, and effects. So forget it !!!

I believe there are a few other tribute albums out there (Songjackers is one of them I believe)
Where can I find them? Thanks in advance!
